Update:

We’re pleased to announce that WestJet, in addition to Air Canada and Porter Airlines, will be accepting the Federal Retirees Canadian Armed Forces veteran membership card as identification for their military baggage policy as of September 17, 2018.

During our Veterans Outreach Initiative last fall and our Veterans Summit in April 2018, Federal Retirees heard loud and clear that veterans deserve recognition for their service to Canada.

To that end, we are pleased to announce that Air Canada and Porter Airlines recently confirmed that they will accept the new Federal Retirees CAF veteran membership card as valid ID for their enhanced baggage allowance programs.

With this new card, eligible members can check their luggage for free when flying with Air Canada or Porter Airlines according to each airline’s military baggage policy.

In order to have your new Federal Retirees CAF veteran membership card sent to you, be sure to fill out and mail us the courtesy reply card in the fall issue of Sage. Interested members can also contact our national office to request a card by email at service@federalretirees.ca or by telephone at 1-855-304-4700 (toll-free).

We are grateful for the generosity of Air Canada, Porter Airlines and WestJet and we join them in recognizing and thanking all our veterans for their service to Canada.
