Submissions for the 2020 Volunteer Recognition Awards are now closed. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a special volunteer or branch. Check back early next year to submit a nomination for the 2021 awards.
 

Instructions for Nominators

  • Click on the award(s) for which you are submitting the nomination
  • Complete all three parts: Part 1 (Nominee), Part 2 (Nominator), Part 3 in accordance with the award criteria (including names of two endorsers)
  • Send any supporting documents, including the name of the nominee and the award category, to gcurran@federalretirees.ca

National Awards for Individuals

Individual awards will be presented for the following categories:
 

  • The Claude Edwards Leadership Award - provided to an Association volunteer who demonstrated outstanding leadership and perseverance in advancing an Association cause or causes which benefit(s) members.

  • The Collaboration Award - This award recognizes an Association volunteer who made a significant contribution to a partnership or collaborative activity requiring the cooperation of different Association entities/or external stakeholders, and which resulted in benefits to members, one or more branches or districts, or the Association as a whole.

  • The Volunteerism Award - presented to an Association member who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service, through his or her volunteer activities outside of the Association.

National Awards for Branches 

There are four branch awards to recognize the outstanding work done by our branches in support of our members and volunteers. The awards are:
 

  • Membership Recruitment and Engagement - awarded to a branch for excellence in the delivery of programs, activities and services — such as recruiting campaigns, community outreach, educational and social functions – which attract, retain, and engage members and help contribute to net membership growth.

  • Volunteer Support and Development - awarded to a branch for excellence in the delivery of programs and activities in support of volunteers, including volunteer recognition, development, recruitment, and succession management.

  • Advocacy - awarded to a branch that has demonstrated exemplary effort in advancing Association advocacy strategy(ies) by encouraging and facilitating member engagement and exerting influence on local decision-makers.

  • Branch Excellence – Large Branch (for branches with over 1,000 members). This award recognizes a branch which has demonstrated overall excellence in a broad range of areas.  It is awarded to a branch for excellence in the delivery of programs and activities in support of all three key categories:
    • Membership Recruitment and Engagement
    • Volunteer Recruitment and support, and
    • Advocacy
  • Branch Excellence – Small Branch (for branches will 1,000 or fewer members). This award recognizes a branch which has demonstrated overall excellence in a broad range of areas. It is awarded to a branch for excellence in the delivery of programs and activities in support of at least two of the following key categories:
    • Membership Recruitment and Engagement
    • Volunteer Recruitment and support, and
    • Advocacy
