The National Association of Federal Retirees (Federal Retirees) is the largest national advocacy organization representing active and retired members of the federal public service, Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and retired federally appointed judges, their partners and survivors.
From strategic, impactful advocacy work to preferred partners that offer real savings, there are plenty of things to love about becoming a Federal Retirees member. Join now, even if you aren’t retired!
We need you
Operating since 1963, Federal Retirees has a proud history of advocacy on behalf of our close to 170,000 members and all retirees. With our volunteers and members from coast-to-coast, we continue this tradition of strong, smart advocacy campaigns.
Membership costs just $52.56 per year for an individual and $68.28 per year for a couple. With your support, we can continue to protect your hard-earned pension and benefits. Your membership also supports good policy that improves the lives all Canadians in retirement.
Our work together
Thanks to the generous support of our Federal Retirees community we have been able to deliver effective advocacy campaigns that truly make a difference. Our recent achievements include:
- Delivering strong representation for federal retirees as your official representative on Treasury Board committees, protecting your pension security and negotiating supplemental health and dental benefits
- Standing up for retirement income security
- Working to improve the well-being of veterans and their families
- Seeing seniors’ voices recognized in the federal cabinet
Federal Retirees is also building a nationwide network of advocates to advance our mission – to significantly improve the quality and security of retirement for our members and all Canadians. We’re calling this network Reach 338 – because our goal is to ensure that our advocacy work reaches all 338 federal ridings before the next election and we need you to make it happen.
Visit our advocacy page to learn more about our recent work, Reach 338 and our historic victories.
We see you
With the National Association of Federal Retirees, you will always be more than just a number. Of course, you will have a membership number (which is useful for partner savings, among other things) but you are first and foremost a valued advocate and supporter. What we do is only possible because of you.
You can call us during business hours at 1-855-304-4700 to talk to a real-live person (not an automated prerecording) to ask your questions about our advocacy work, your membership, volunteering opportunities and anything else!
Not a phone person? Don’t worry – there are plenty of ways to keep in touch!
Your local community
When you become a member, you also become part of one of our 78 branches across the country with a team of passionate volunteers who are there for you – connecting with MPs, organizing events, answering questions and so much more.
(If volunteering is something that interests you, we offer opportunities, training and all the support you’ll need to take action and be part of impactful advocacy campaigns.)
Savings and other perks
