Join Us in Honouring Those Who Served
Every year, Nov. 5 to 11 is Veterans’ Week, a time for Canadians to honour the extraordinary courage and sacrifices of those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
On Remembrance Day, the Nova Scotia Central Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees will honour the service and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans and all those who have served our country by presenting wreaths at five local Royal Canadian Legion branches.
Our wreaths will be presented at the following locations:
- Fairview Branch 142
50 Hillcrest Street, Halifax - MacDonald Memorial Branch 156
231 Greenhead Road, Lakeside, NS - Somme Branch 31
54 King Street, Dartmouth - Bedford Branch 95
1772 Bedford Highway, Bedford - Eastern Marine Branch 161
6644 Highway 7, Gaetz Brook
We would welcome volunteers from our membership who would be willing to present a wreath on behalf of Nova Scotia Central Branch at Fairview Branch 142 or MacDonald Memorial Branch 156. If you are interested in representing our branch at either of these ceremonies, please email us at nafr73@outlook.com.
We encourage all members to attend a Remembrance Day ceremony at one of the locations listed above or at another ceremony closer to home.
Remembrance Day is an opportunity to pause, reflect and express our gratitude to the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, Canada. By participating in these ceremonies, we honour their courage, sacrifice and dedication, and help ensure that their service is never forgotten.
Lest We Forget.
