Board of Directors

Current Members

Part V of the Quinte Branch Bylaws establishes the composition of the board and other requirements. Branch directors must be valid members of the association. If membership lapses or is terminated by either the member or the association, the director immediately ceases to hold office.

The Quinte Branch board shall be comprised of four executive directors (president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer), and up-to six directors. The number of directors on the branch board shall be established at a branch annual meeting, by a proposal approved by 50%+1 of the votes cast. Subsequent changes to the number of directors may be made in accordance with the provisions for any other amendment to these by-laws set out in Part X.

Primary Responsibilities

President, as chair, shall call and chair branch board meetings and branch general meetings. The president shall serve as the chief spokesperson of the branch and at national meetings of members. The president shall have such other duties and powers as the branch board may specify.

Vice-President shall assume the duties of president in the event of the President’s absence, disability, or refusal to act. The vice-president shall have such other duties and powers as the branch board may specify.

Treasurer shall keep the financial accounts of the branch and shall exercise primary signing authority for expenditures. At each branch annual meeting, the treasurer shall submit a report of the branch finances for the previous fiscal year, and a budget forecast for the next fiscal year.

Secretary shall keep copies of the association’s by-laws, branch by-laws and the branch board’s policy statements, maintain contact and member lists, create and distribute meeting information, record and produce minutes, and retain board correspondence.

Branch directors contribute to branch board planning, priorities, and activities, participate in tasks, working groups, committees, and/or a portfolio as determined by the branch board, assist in logistical, operational, and administrative details of events, including venue selection, and on-site attendance at branch events, and attend regional, provincial, and national meetings as requested.
