Board of directors call for nominations

The branch annual meeting (BAM) for the Calgary & District Branch is scheduled to be held Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Silver Springs Golf & Country Club, commencing at 10:00 a.m.,

Some of the current members of the board of directors will be stepping down, while others’ terms are expiring. There  are anticipated to be three vacancies that need to be filled by the election of directors.  Four current directors are seeking re-election, and two members have put their names forward for the 2023-2025 term. There is a need for an additional director to fulfill the role of Secretary.

Your board of directors is seeking volunteers who would be interested in joining the board for a two-year elected term as director, or as a volunteer “friend of board” to work on specific branch projects and campaigns. The board of directors functions largely through collaborative committees, so support is always available.

This is your opportunity to support the Calgary & District Branch and the National Association of Federal Retirees that works tirelessly to protect your pensions and benefits, and to advocate for all seniors.

There are a variety of opportunities in which you could contribute, based on your interests and skill set:

  • Advocacy
  • Membership
  • Finance
  • Communications and social media
  • Event planning (luncheons/presentations)
  • Veterans
  • Outreach to members outside of Calgary (Airdrie, Banff/Canmore, Chestermere, Cochrane, Okotoks, Strathmore, Drumheller)

We ask that you consider supporting your branch and put your name forward for a position on the board of directors or as a "friend of the board."

If you have any questions, please contact Pat Henderson, chair of the nominations committee by email at calgarybranch@federalretirees.ca or by phone at (403) 880-6066.

Respectfully,

Pat Henderson
Past President, Calgary & District Branch
On behalf of the branch board of directors
