Board of Directors

Meet the current board of directors of the NS Central branch.

President and Treasurer: Paul McCabe
Paul McCabe served over 36 years in the RCAF holding various leadership positions and 12 years as a vice president with IMP Aerospace. He is a passionate volunteer having held board positions with several volunteer organizations. Throughout Paul’s career he engaged in strategic planning and successfully generated positive outcomes while developing individuals to reach their full potential.
 

First Vice President: Laurie Morton
Laurie Morton has spent her career as a director developing and implementing policies and regulations related to income security programs, as well as providing guidance on income and financial assistance. She has volunteered on various boards and joined the National Association of Federal Retirees in 2022 as the branch office coordinator, became a director in 2023 and currently is the first vice president. Laurie is passionate about advocacy, governance, problem solving and helping members navigate communication channels, so they are kept informed and supported.
 

Secnd Vice President: Joe Arsenault
Joe Arsenault retired in 2007 after working 35 years in DND Halifax Dockyard, where he started as an apprentice and evolved to excel through various roles, including mechanical fitter, systems technician and shop supervisor. These successes were achieved due to Joe’s hard work and ingenuity. Since joining the National Association of Federal Retirees, he continues to stay true to his values, embraces life and holds strong the value of supporting seniors. Joe maintains his passion for working with mechanics,  visiting car and motorcycle shows. He’s also a happy granddad who remains actively involved as the grandkids participate in hockey and baseball games.
 

Director - Secretary: Stan Grey
Stan Grey retired from the Royal Canadian Navy in 2001, after having served 33 years, and continued to work for seven more years with the HRM emergency services. He was introduced to the National Association of Federal Retirees through a retirement seminar and joined immediately, and then became a volunteer in 2013. Stan joined the board in 2015 and has since held many roles including branch health benefits officer, membership chair and currently supports the secretary role.
 

Director - Advocacy program officer for Nova Scotia: Michelle Langille
Michelle Langille retired from the public service in 2014 having spent most of her career progressing within the field of human resources. She started volunteering with the Nova Scotia Central Branch in 2015 and formed part of the executive team working primarily in the areas of communications, recruitment and advocacy. In 2017, she was appointed to the role of the NS advocacy program officer (APO) where she also participates on the NS Seniors Council and the National Association of Federal Retirees advocacy committee.  She continues to support the branch as a director.
 

Director - Branch advocacy liaison officer: Anne-Marie Leger
Anne-Marie Leger brings over 27 years of federal work experience in public and intergovernmental relations and policy advocacy to the Association’s Nova Scotia Central Branch. She holds a degree in public relations and is a certified public engagement specialist with the International Association for Public Participation, whose mission is to promote and advance public participation globally. Anne-Marie looks forward to applying these skills to benefit Nova Scotia seniors through her work with the National Association of Federal Retirees.
 

Director - Delores Woodley
Delores Woodley brings a combined career of being a registered nurse for over 35 years and a military veteran of 21 years, with a bachelor of nursing and a master of health administration.  She has travelled extensively and worked as a clinical  director to develop programs for hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. In early 2003 to 2005. Delores served as the president of the board for the Ontario Case Management Association and as a director for Hospice Care Ottawa and has participated on numerous committees. She continues to share her knowledge as a nurse mentor for new nurses and internationally educated nurses at Nova Scotia Health.
 

Director - Communications, PR, web content editor: Stephanie Dean
Stephanie Dean retired in 2023, after working in Ontario in various industries with concentration in IT project management and communications. She is newly appointed to the Nova Scotia Central Branch for a two-year term. Stephanie is looking forward to embracing collaboration through open and frequent communication, accepting different perspectives as well as building new relationships.
 

Director - Tom Campbell
Tom Campbell spent most of his career being responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of one of Canada’s leading pharmacy retailers, in both PEI and Nova Scotia. He then joined Statistics Canada where he helped the agency obtain key information on Canada’s economy, society and the environment.  Tom joined the National Association of Federal Retirees in 2024 as a director and is involved in the volunteer engagement committee and the Preferred Partner Program. For fun, he enjoys hiking and travelling, particularly in the Atlantic.
