Coffee, Cookies, Conversations and Connections (AIRDRIE ONLY)
Do you know someone who is eligible (they do or will receive Superannuation) to join National Association of Federal Retirees? Invite them; they are welcome too. As well as fellowship, we will share literature on Federal Retirees well thought out positions on important issues affecting older persons. Featured topic will be a conversation on Bill 11 that will allow some doctors to work in both the public and private health-care systems simultaneously. Bill 11 also reverses the order of first payee for eligible medical expenses. It makes private health care plans first payee and Alberta Blue Cross for Seniors last payee. Do you have positions, ideas and suggestions to share with us? Would you like us to bring a ‘coffee and cookies’ meeting to your neighbourhood or town? Both federal and provincial elections are possible in 2026. In the coming months, your Branch Executive will continue to request meetings with our members’ elected representatives. You, as a constituent, are most often the only persons eligible to request a meeting. We have speaking notes, we have sample contact letters, we have Federal Retirees position statements, we have directors willing to attend with you. There will be a sign-up sheet for members who wish to initiate a meeting with their elected representatives.
