Federal Retirees COVID-19 Information Hub

COVID-19 information and resources
Federal Retirees’ COVID-19 Hub aims to make it easy to stay up-to-date and collects all our pandemic-related information in one place.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus. The best way to slow its spread is to be well informed about the disease and how it is transmitted. Keep up to date with public health resources and recommendations from the Government of Canada and from your province or territory.

Older adult care in Canada

We realize that our membership comprises a population that is vulnerable to this virus and, in particular, the pandemic has exposed and aggravated problems within Canadian long-term care and home care systems. The shocking truth is that 80 per cent of Canada’s total COVID-19 deaths have occurred in long-term care. It is crucial that we use this opportunity to rethink older adult care in Canada. We urge you to consider our advocacy position on older adult care and follow along with our campaign.

Branch events and meetings

Meetings and gatherings will be different during the COVID-19 pandemic than they were before. Many Federal Retirees branches are choosing to hold virtual members events and, as of Sept. 1, 2021, some branches may also begin holding in-person meetings. If you plan to attend an in-person event, we ask that you follow all local public health guidance.

For the latest updates on upcoming Association events, reach out to your local branch and keep an eye on your inbox for emails and newsletters.
