We’re pleased to announce that Gisèle Tassé-Goodman has been elected as the Association’s national board chair.

The National Association of Federal Retirees is pleased to announce that Gisèle Tassé-Goodman has been elected as the Association’s national board chair at a virtual Annual Meeting of Members, which took place on Nov. 19, 2025. This meeting was a continuation of the 2025 AMM, held in June.

Tassé-Goodman brings decades of experience connecting public policy with community advocacy. Her career includes senior leadership roles at Employment and Social Development Canada and several years as president of FADOQ. During her tenure, she led significant advocacy initiatives, contributed to the United Nations Committee on Ageing and regularly appeared before parliamentary committees.

Tassé-Goodman has long worked to strengthen policies that support the well-being of older Canadians while advancing inclusion, diversity and intergenerational connection. Appointed to the Association’s national board of directors earlier this year, she now steps into the role of chair, and we look forward to working with her.

Her election as chair creates a vacancy for one of the two national board director positions from Quebec. That seat is expected to be filled during the 2026 Annual Meeting of Members, scheduled to take place June 16 and 17, 2026. Members who wish to learn more about board roles and future opportunities can find additional information on our website.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Hélène Nadeau, who served as interim chair during this transition and now returns to her role as national board vice-chair. Her leadership and dedication ensured continuity throughout the election process.

Please join us in welcoming Gisèle Tassé-Goodman as our new national board chair and in thanking Hélène Nadeau for her thoughtful stewardship.
