Holland Cavan added her own creative touch to our Veterans’ Week poster, and we love it!
This year, Federal Retirees invited members and their loved ones to use our colour-in poster to raise awareness of Veterans’ Week in their communities and networks. Everyone who submitted a colourful masterpiece to us – either through social media or by email – was entered into a draw to win a $100 pre-paid credit card. This year’s lucky and talented winner is 11-year-old Holland Cavan, the granddaughter of Association member Don Anderson.
Holland was thrilled to receive the prize and wanted to share a few words about the importance of remembrance: “Remembrance Day is a special day for so many people. I am so thankful to all the soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom.”
We would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to Holland and to everyone who joined our campaign to raise awareness of Veterans’ Week and ensure that Canadian veterans receive the recognition and support they deserve.
