After landing on Saturday, Hurricane Fiona left a trail of devastation across all four Atlantic provinces and eastern Quebec.

Federal Retirees’ thoughts are with Atlantic Canadians and Eastern Quebecers who are affected by the destruction from Hurricane Fiona. We are deeply saddened by news of loss of life in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador and the widespread devastation and power outages caused by high winds, falling trees, torrential rainfall and storm surges along the coast.

The Government of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross have set up a donation-matching fund to support those impacted by the storm. For more information, and to donate, refer to the news release from Public Safety Canada.
