Greetings to one and all:
As Christmas and the holiday season approaches we are always reminded of the love of family and friends.
At such a busy time of year we often forget those with little or no pensions to support them, and those whose health has failed them, or whose good fortune took a wrong turn. Those who lost a loved one in the past year often find their first Christmas alone to be the saddest time of their lives. Taking a few moments from our busy schedule to visit a shut-in, or bring a plate of cookies to someone who is alone, or handicapped, takes only our time but is priceless to the individual.
For those of us who are more fortunate please consider a donation to a worthy cause, for example the United Way which distributes your donation to worthy causes in your community, or your local food bank or soup kitchen, often providing a Christmas meal to the needy, or a gift to a young child.
On behalf of the executive and members-at-large, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you and yours a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year filled with hope, health, prosperity and happiness.
